A gun-toting thug who has only been identified as Fidel, a ringleader of a miscreant gang of five that has been staging attacks targeting residents living in the informal settlements of Dandora lay dead this morning after his body was riddled by a hail of bullets fire from Nairobi-based crime busters.
To secure his life, the police had ordered that he surrenders but he opted to test the officers resilience by firing indiscriminately at the fast-approaching men in blue but fortunately, the police outdid him in the game that they are equally proficient in.
Detectives have since revealed that Fidel has for long been on the police radar as he kept engaging them in a cat-and-mouse game but was finally cornered at Joy Villa in Dandora moments after staging a daring robberies along Mwas Road.
Preliminary investigations and intelligence analysis had connected Fidel and his gang to the spate of attacks that have rocked Nairobi’s eastlands suburbs in recent days, targeting innocent civilians.
A firearm and two rounds of 9mm callibre, were recovered from the thug following the operation mounted in the wee hours of today morning.
Two other thugs who were with Fidel at the time of the incident, were lucky to escape the onslaught alive but with their bodies riddled with bullet wounds. Dandora based crime busters are currently hot on their trail.
