In this era where securing job opportunities by graduates is still a nightmare due to the shrinking economy and oversupply of graduates, Tanga-tanga firebrand senator Isaac Maigua Mwaura has taken to his social media pages to publicize a section of youth he claims to have successfully secured job opportunities for.
Mwaura proudly stated that he had linked the youth to reputable government ministries, higher educational institutions, multinational retail corporations, county governments and the private sector including a telecommunications company, safaricom, L’Oréal and Barclays Bank.
According to the fiery legislator, three of the previously unemployed youth identified as Moses Nginga, Pascillisah Minayo and Lorena Njoki have been appointed as assistant county commissioners in the ministry of interior and coordination of national government.
Elsewhere, Duncan Nyangaresi has got an opportunity to work with a French multinational corporation, Carrefour while Elijah Wanjala Machimbo got a teaching job at the prestigious MultiMedia university while at the same time being enrolled for a master’s program.
” They can’t hide there joy as they have faced a lot of challenges looking for gainful employment”. Mwaura noted.
He promised that he will not relent in fighting for social inclusion of the country’s young people in all spheres of the work environment to exploit their abilities fully.
Apart from his seemingly good deeds to the youth, a section of Mwaura’s critics raised and integrity card against him.
They faulted the UDA-allied legislator for perpetuating the “Godfather” philosophy that has worked against majority youth from humble backgrounds who have nobody to link them up with exclusive job opportunities.
“We have successfully secured more job opportunities for unemployed young Kenyans. Congratulations Moses Nginga, Pascillisah Minayo and Lorena Njoki on your appointments to serve in government as Assist County Commissioners.
At the same time, I am glad to note that Dancan Nyangaresi will now be working at Carrefour and a young man by the name Elijah Wanjala Machimbo will be teaching at Multi-Media University and has enrolled for a masters program.
They join a long list of others that we have been able to secure job opportunities for in public and private sectors including companies such as Safaricom, L’Oréal, Barclays Bank, Carrefour, Uasin Gishu County among others.
They can’t hide their joy as they have faced a lot of challenges looking for gainful employment. I will not relent in fighting for social inclusion of our young people in all spheres” Mwaura said.
